Katie Decker-Erickson began her career in commercial color consulting as a part-time passion project. Since her company, Color Works launched in 2007, Katie Decker-Erickson has leveraged her business acumen and 15-year industry experience into a multi-million dollar company operating in a commercial space few designers enter, currently operating in over 20 states nationwide, with a fully remote team, while maintaining a boutique client experience and the full life of full-time motherhood to two young girls.

In a single year, Katie and her Color Works team saw unprecedented revenue growth of 1500%.

Today she works with billion-dollar Real Estate Investment Trusts, managing the design of multiple large-scale portfolios, hundreds of properties, and more projects, focusing on the way design impacts experience.

Now, with 15 years in the industry, an additional 18 years of undergraduate & graduate teaching at 4 universities, and a wild passion for women's empowerment in entrepreneurship and financial literacy, Katie is coaching other interior designers towards similar success and what scaleability looks like both personally and professionally.

Katie began Colors Works to bring together her passions for design and business. Using her right-brained MBA background and left-brained certification by the International Association of Color Consultants/Designers, she weaves creativity and value into her business and each and every client project. When not positioning her team and clients for success, she enjoys travel, hiking, and being on the water.
